Florida kids want pay rise for dentists

Sample News Big

Poor children in Florida have been urging the State to pay dentists more money under the Medicaid program.

Now representatives of 1.6million young Floridians are waiting to find out the result of a five-year lawsuit, which could force the State to increase Medicaid reimbursement rates.

The plaintiff don’t even want compensation, they just want dentists and pediatricians to receive a realistic free for helping kids supported by the Medicaid program.

However, it would cost Florian tax-payers $200million to increase Medicaid reimbursements and change seems even less lively as the State faced a $2.6billion budget shortfall thanks to the recession.

Stuart Singer, lead attorney for the young Medicaid recipients, said that, while times are obviously tough economically, something had to be done to combat the trend of indifference that was emerging in Florida.

A judge will make his decision on Medicaid reimbursements on 5 January 2010.
