The first dental clinic opened in a British supermarket, was opened in Sainsbury’s. The dental clinic is opening everyday 8 am – 8 pm. People can stop in to have their dental needs met while shopping for groceries.  The supermarket dental clinic is offering dental examinations for £16.  This could complete with the NHS dentists. The dental clinic opened in the middle of the dentist shortages seen in the NHS. Approximately, 35,000 dental patients have travelling to other countries for dental work due to these shortages. Yesterday, the first dental patient seen in the clinic thought it was a brilliant idea, and had a composite filling placed. She was formerly being seen as a patient by a NHS dentist and could not be seen to 2 days; the procedure would have cost her £55. Another patient had her teeth whitened, and was very pleased. Two female patients seen at the dental clinic reported being very pleased with the services that they received, and the cost of the procedure, and they were able to be seen right away! One patient received a composite restoration on a tooth, while the other received whitening procedure.
