Fife dental practice to reopen after 14 months

A dental practice in Back Dykes, Fife is reopening after 14 months.

Auchtermuchty Dental Practice closed during the pandemic due to staff shortages. The owners of the practice were unable to find a dentist, meaning that the clinic was effectively closed for over a year. Now, the practice has new owners and the team is looking forward to welcoming patients back.

The practice has been taken over by Infinityblu Dental Care and Implant Clinic, which is based in Pitlochry. Founded by a previous winner of Scottish Young Dentist of the Year, Chris Barrowman, the Auchtermuchty practice is the group’s tenth acquisition.

The new Infinityblu clinic will offer a combination of NHS and private dental services. For the first time, patients will be able to access dental implants, oral surgery and orthodontics as well as general dentistry.

Since taking over the practice, Mr Barrowman has worked hard to assemble a team and ensure that equipment is restocked and serviced ready to treat patients. The priority is to see patients who have been waiting for a long time.

Speaking about the opening, Mr Barrowman said that it was “wonderful” to open the doors and start making appointments. The team has already been in contact with patients who have been waiting for treatment for over a year.

There are many villages around Fife, which don’t have access to NHS dental services so the reopening is excellent news for residents. The practice is welcoming patients who were previously registered as well as new faces. More information is available online. Residents who are looking for a dentist can also contact the practice to find out more about services and availability.
