Fearless dentist completes Ironman challenge for charity
A fearless dentist from the North West has successfully completed an Ironman triathlon challenge for charity.
Dr Zuber Bagasi, from Synergy Dental, tackled the Ironman UK Triathlon recently, successfully completing three gruelling stages to raise funds for good causes. Dr Bagasi took on a 2.5-mile swim, a 112-mile cycle and a 26-mile marathon to complete the challenge in 15.5 hours.
The boss of Synergy Dental, a chain with offices throughout the North West, undertook rigorous training for months in advance. On completion of the test, which required exceptional physical and mental strength, Dr Bagasi thanked his wife, who he joked had become an “Ironman widow,” and his trainers and fellow competitors at Tri-Rivington.
Dr Bagasi decided to sign up for the event to test his mettle and raise money for local causes, including Bolton Hospice. He also wanted to inspire other people to be more active and to push themselves to achieve new goals.
