The owners of an Exmouth dental practice have secured funding to expand the business.

Select Dental has successfully secured a funding package from Lloyds Bank, which will enable the practice to increase its capacity and provide more services to more local patients. The funds, which are worth over £800,000 will allow the business to relocate to larger premises in the town centre.

The owners of Select Dental have already bought the premises and they are now in the process of relocating and expanding the dental team. The new practice will house seven surgeries and the team will boast two new clinicians. The previous practice had three surgeries.

The expansion will provide valuable services for local people, with the demand for dental care rocketing in the area since the pandemic. Director and practice manager, Karen Gosling, said that the demand has risen steeply in the last few years and the practice was simply not able to cater to new patients at the existing location. Moving the practice and adding to the team will boost growth, enabling more people to access local dental services.

Karen and her partner, Rob, established Select Dental in 2000. The latest expansion project is the biggest in the practice’s history and marks an exciting development for both the team and the patients. The duo currently employees 20 people with more new jobs expected to be created in the future. As well as offering general dentistry services on the NHS, the practice also provides cosmetic dentistry. Projections suggest that the relocation and expansion will increase the business’ turnover by 100%.
