Members of staff at an Exmouth dental practice are celebrating after a busy week, which saw them pass an inspection and play host to an Olympic torch bearer.

Colin Rowland, a marathon runner who was chosen to carry the torch through Hatherleigh, visited his local practice, the Bicton Place Dental Practice to show off the torch and enable patients and staff to have photographs with the famous Olympic icon.

Since his torch run, Colin has been visiting communities in the local area to raise awareness of a charity close to his heart, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Colin suffers from diabetes and his visit to the practice helped to raise £200 for the cause.

Receptionist and office manager, Jayne Moores, said that it was a great opportunity to have the torch in the practice and staff and patients were excited to have pictures holding the torch.

The practice also received a very positive report from the Care Quality Commission.
