Essex Dentist Throws Brace at Patients Mother

Sample News Big

A local dentist from Braintree is facing a disciplinary hearing after being accused of a number of offences, dating as far back as 2003.

Raghuvir Patel of R Patel and Associates has been reprimanded by the General Dental Council for hurling a broken brace at the mother of one of his patients. Furthermore, Mr Patel has been accused of repeatedly shouting abuse at his members of staff and other offences.

The Council was informed that Mr Patel had launched the broken brace at his office wall, missing the mother’s ear by about 20cm. The GDC believe this happened because he was told a false story by the patient regarding how his brace was broken.

Mr Patel stated that he had no recollection of doing this but admitted that something did happen. The council are cynical about this excuse and declare that they don’t know how he cannot remember the incident.

GDC have said that this is the most serious of Mr Patel’s offences and describe the occurrence as being reckless and inappropriate.

Mr Patel has also been found to have been containing clinical waste in unsecured areas, such as under his practices stairs. The hearing is still ongoing.
