Ely dental practice to relocate after outgrowing existing premises

A dental practice in Ely is set to relocate after outgrowing its existing premises.

The owner of Enhance Dental Clinic has submitted an application to move the practice to new premises located in Lancaster Way.

The proposal outlines plans to move out of the centre of Ely to provide dental care across two floors of a unit based at Lancaster Way Business Park.

If the plans are approved by East Cambridgeshire District Council, the practice will utilise the space, which covers almost 7,000 square feet, to create new surgeries, as well as research facilities.

Lau Berraondo opened the clinic in 2008 and the business has expanded significantly in recent years. The practice has outgrown its current home in St Mary’s Street and the aim is to move to take advantage of larger premises and more space to expand the client base and offer patients treatment in state of the art facilities.

A statement accompanying the plans suggests that the practice needs to relocate in order to facilitate expansion and ‘consolidate the business.’

Since it opened in 2008, Enhance Dental Clinic has grown from a two-surgery practice into a six-surgery centre with a team of eight practitioners. If the relocation plans get the green light, the statement explains, a local business will be able to grow and provide residents with superior services.

There are plans to expand the existing team from 19 employees and eight self-employed clinicians to a team of 35, with significant growth predicted in the next five years. The new site would also enable the practice to cover Witchford, which does not currently have a dental practice.
