Diss Dentist Hails 100 Year Old Patient
A dentist from Diss has hailed one of his patients, praising her dedication to looking after her teeth. Patient Mabel Scadding has recently celebrated her 100th birthday, marking a first for dentist Dr Bernie Mayston, who has never cared for a patient over the age of 100 before.
Dr Mayston stated that Mabel was a shining example of the length and quality of service the teeth can provide if they are well looked-after and encouraged other patients to follow in her footsteps.
Dr Mayston, from Diss Dental Care Centre, which is located on Victoria Road, claimed that Mabel is the oldest patient on the practice register and it is an honour to be able to provide dental care for her. Dr Mayston described Mrs Scadding as a “lovely lady” and said that it was a pleasure to look after her and her 100 year old teeth. This is the first time the Diss dentist has come across teeth that have been in place for more than 100 years, and Dr Mayston said that this case is testament to how long the teeth can last when they are looked after properly.
As well as celebrating her landmark birthday, Mabel was also invited to the surgery to officially open the new dental chair.
