Discussions are underway to bring a new dental practice to Callander.

Representatives from NHS Forth Valley confirmed that talks have begun with a view to opening a new NHS dental surgery in the town. There are currently no available new adult NHS places after the Infinity Blu Dental Care and Implant Clinic stopped providing NHS services in February 2023. The news was announced in November 2022. The clinic is still offering NHS care for under 18s.

Callander Community Council has been working with NHS Forth Valley to try to identify solutions to improve access to NHS dentistry for residents. The board is in discussion with a group of dentists in Forth Valley who are interested in taking on an NHS contract. The discussions are at an early stage but so far, they have been positive and there is hope that NHS services for adults will return to the town soon.

The group comprises local dental professionals who may be interested in working as part of a partnership with Callander Medical Centre, which has been earmarked as a potential base for a new dental practice.

Director of dentistry at NHS Forth Valley, Jennifer Rodgers, said that talks have been progressing with local dentists. The board is hoping to provide more updates in the near future. Patients who need urgent assistance in the meantime can contact NHS Forth Valley’s dental helpline, which will provide access to emergency dental services in the area.
