Dentistry museum appoints new director

The National Museum of Dentistry has appointed an experienced new executive director to take it into the next decade.

Jonathan W Landers, who is a non-profit executive with more 30 years experience, will take charge at the museum which celebrates the history of dentistry and educates to public about why it is crucial to maintain good oral health.

Dr Leslie Seldin, chair of the museum’s board of visitors, said that Landers had been chosen above a number of skilled candidates because the board believe he will help the museum to realize its true potential.

He succeeds Rosemary Fetter, who retired in June 2009 after 11 years in charge at the museum, and said that he was thrilled to have been appointed and described his new role as a unique opportunity to promote healthy smiles in a fun way.

Landers who comes from a fund-raising, program development and institutional management background and it is believed that his enthusiasm will benefit the museum no end.
