More than one hundred people received free dental care as part of a charity programme in Bradford, Simcoe County last week.

The team at Bradford Family Dentistry provided more than $27,000 worth of dental care free of charge on Friday 27th May as part of the Dentistry from the Heart initiative. The scheme involves dentists across the USA and Canada offering their services for free on special days throughout the year.

On the 27th, large crowds gathered at the office to take advantage of the event, which had been advertised on local radio and social media. More than 100 people flooded through the doors during the day. This was the 6th time the office has hosted a Dentistry from the Heart event.

The team worked hard to treat as many people as possible between 8am and 6pm.

Director of marketing and communications, Andrew Hamilton, said news of free treatment had clearly spread, as there were many more people from outside of Bradford at this year’s event. Mr Hamilton said it was a great success, but the large numbers of people waiting to get an appointment underlined the demand for affordable dental treatment across the country.

People started to turn up at the practice at 4am and were willing to wait in line to make sure they got an appointment.

So far, Bradford Family Dentistry has given more than $150,000 worth of free treatment in support of the Dentistry from the Heart campaign.
