Dental team prepare for London Marathon

Sample News Big

Members of staff from a dental practice in Thornbury are preparing to tackle the London Marathon.

Dentist Mike Furlong and receptionist Angela Bushell, from Bank Cottage Dental on Castle Street, are running the race to raise money for charity. Mike is running the 26 mile race in aid of Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Appeal, which supports Bristol Children’s Hospital and the neonatal unit at St Michael’s hospital; Mike said that his son needed care at the hospital a few years ago and the staff were brilliant, which prompted him to run in aid of the appeal this year.

Angela has run the Dublin marathon before but this will be her first London marathon; she is running in aid of The Brooke Hospital for Animals; the hospital helps donkeys, horses and mules that have been working in very difficult conditions in poor communities in the Middle East, Asia and Africa.

The pair have been training hard and are ready for the challenge; anyone who wants to sponsor them can call in to Bank Cottage Dental or visit their online sponsorship pages.
