Dental Patients Encouraged To Eat Cake In Aid Of A Good Cause

Sample News Big

Most of the time you hear dentists warning patients off cakes and biscuits, but patients at a Milton Keynes were encouraged to indulge last week in aid of a good cause.

The dental team at Wilson House in Newport Pagnell invited patients to treat themselves to coffee and cake last Friday as part of a national fundraising effort for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The team laid on a delicious spread as part of Macmillan’s biggest coffee morning fundraising programme, which is aiming to raise millions of pounds to help people affected by cancer.

A spokesman for the practice said that the event had been great fun and a chance for people to sample homemade cakes and treats, as well as supporting a good cause; although dentists spend a lot of time talking to patients about the dangers of eating sugary foods, this was a one-off and patients were advised to brush their teeth afterwards.

The event was supported by dentists Chris Horn and Rachel Langridge, along with the nursing and reception teams.

Coffee mornings are being held at schools, colleges, sports clubs and community centres all over the UK to raise money for Macmillan.
