A team of dental nurses from Shropshire have swapped the treatment room for the catwalk to raise money for a local hospice.

Oracle Dental Clinics have raised more than £400 for the Severn Hospice; members of staff organised a charity fashion show, which was held at the Lord Hill Hotel in Shrewsbury. More than 60 people from local dental services were invited to the show, with staff from the dental community given the opportunity to pick up some fashion and beauty tips.

Nurses from the clinic took to the catwalk to show off the latest trends and guests were also invited to enter the raffle, which included prizes such as a fish pedicure, a day of pampering at a spa and a hand-crafted handbag.

Michelle Cutler, manager of Oracle Dental Clinics, said that the event was a huge success and great fun and the fashion show was a chance for the nurses to swap their day job and become models for the day, all in support of a very worthy cause. Many of the staff have personal experiences of the Severn Hospice, which provides care for terminally ill people and people with chronic illnesses.

Lucy Proctor, Community Fundraising Manager at Severn Hospice, said that staff at the hospice were very grateful to the team at Oracle. The money raised by the fashion show will be used to provide care and support for people with serious, long-term illnesses and their families.
