Dental Nurse to Swap Linlithgow for Romania this Summer to Help Children in Need

A dental nurse is preparing to leave her family and friends in Linlithgow to help children in Romania this summer.

Chloe Rankine will travel to Hunedoara as part of a charity mission organised by Vision Romania. She will be attending a summer camp for children, which enables children from poor backgrounds to enjoy fun and games and meet new friends, as well as giving them a chance to get the dental and medical treatment they need.

Chloe said that the children do not have access to routine healthcare and many of them suffer from decay, as well as tooth pain. The summer camp is much more than a visit to the dentist; it also gives the children the chance to play and have fun, which is something many of them don’t experience on a regular basis.

Chloe will be travelling to Romania with her colleague, Faye and the trip will last ten days. The pair heard about the trip from their boss and they were determined to take part and use their skills to benefit others.

Vision Romania hosts two camps per year and children are provided with clean clothing, food and clean water and comfortable surroundings, as well as Christian education, games and activities and medical care. The charity also provides financial support for families.

Chloe said that she is looking forward to the trip and has been thinking about volunteering abroad for a while now. The 10 day trip seems like a good place to start and Chloe and Faye are looking forward to meeting the children and making a positive impact on their lives.
