Dental gaps are all the rage, according to Harley Street dentist

Many of us think of perfectly aligned, straight teeth when we envisage a flawless smile, but gaps between the teeth have become increasingly sought-after. According to a Harley Street dentist, more and more patients are choosing to keep spaces between their teeth in a bid to recreate looks made famous by celebrities like Georgia May Jagger.

Dr Mark Hughes, from the Harley Street Dental Studio, said that a growing number of patients, especially females, are asking to have their gaps perfected, rather than closed. This often involves altering the size or shape slightly.

Georgia May Jagger fronted a Rimmel campaign, urging consumers to buy into the ‘London look,’ and since, gappy smiles have become more popular. In previous generations, pop icon Madonna inspired many people to embrace their orthodontic flaws. The rise in popularity of reality TV shows like Love Island has also made the gap more trendy. This year, contestants including model, Arabella Chi, and recent new arrival, Francesca Allen, sported the fashionable look.
