Dental firms team up to put Bolton on the map
Two leading dental firms have teamed up to put Bolton on the map. SB Dental and Sparkle Dental Labs will be based at the University of Bolton’s Queen’s Specialist Building as part of a new venture, which will make Bolton one of the most influential providers to the UK’s thriving dental industry.
The state of the art facility, which cost £14 million, is equipped with the latest technology, including modern milling machines, 3D printing and CAD facilities.
Chief executive of SB Dental, Craig Howlin, will assume the role of CEO in a move, which will “strengthen Britain’s capacity in dental technology.” Mr Howlin said that the integration process combines expertise from members of staff from both firms and will reduce overheads and increase efficiency, as well as improving “technical capabilities” and honing the “specialist skills” offered by both businesses.
Sparkle Dental Labs relocated to the university site last September and the addition of SB Dental will make the lab “one of the best labs in the UK”, according to Sparkle’s managing director, Mustafa Mohammed.
The business employs more than 100 members of staff and Sparkle’s sister company, Genix Healthcare has recently opened a training centre at the Queen’s Specialist Building.
