Dental Firm Offers Tips for Travelling Abroad

Sample News Big

Most families spend a considerable amount of money on their summer holiday, so the last thing they want is to end up paying a lot more for emergency dental care during their trip.

Health firm Eludril and Elgydium, which manufactures specialist mouthwash and toothpaste, have offered tips for travellers to help them avoid incurring additional holiday costs.

The most important piece of advice is to encourage people to take out a comprehensive travel insurance policy and check the policy to see if it covers routine and emergency medical and dental treatment.

Another important tip is to ensure that you take a good supply of oral hygiene products with you, as the shops abroad may not stock the same products and they may charge premium rates for popular brands.

If you experience tooth pain or increased sensitivity, experts advise that you steer clear of sugary and spicy foods and to take pain relief tablets, so it is also a good idea to take a supply of painkillers with you.

If you do experience pain or you suffer dental problems or injuries while you are away, it is advisable to ask a travel rep or a member of staff from the resort about the services available locally. Some tour operators will arrange dental appointments for you and you can also ask for help with transport.
