Dental experts praise new product
Dental experts in the UK have praised a new product, which has been hailed as the ‘ultimate dentin substitute’.
Biodentine is the first biocompatible and bioactive material that can be used in different areas of the tooth to replace damaged dentine; Biodentine can be used in the crown and the root, unlike other dentine substitutes.
The product was launched by Septodont in September and has already been given rave reviews by several dental experts.
Biodentine has a range of benefits, including promoting pulp healing, preserving the pulp tissue and replacing natural dentine. The innovative material is based on Active Biosilicate technology and has been developed to replace damaged dentine, wherever it may be located in the tooth. Leading endodontist, Dr Julian Webber, hailed the product as ‘the perfect root canal repair material’ and said he was impressed with the quick setting time and the ease of handling. Professor Tim Watson also praised the product, claiming it has the potential to revolutionise the management of deep cavities in operative dentistry.
