A dental clinic located in Turaif had its licence cancelled yesterday by the Ministry of Health due to a number of irregular occurrences there.

A health official working for the Arabian Ministry of Health, stated that 9 other practices had been closed down in the area since November. The official went on to say that this happened because these practices had not been following the health code set out by the Kingdom.

In addition, two dentists from the practice in Turaif were reported to the Medical Practitioners Committee and the owner of the centre will not be entitled to apply for a new license for at least 2 years. The dentists will attend a hearing and will face a number of penalties due to their violation. This shocking news came from a health committee inspection.

What’s more, the ministry has stated that they “will not compromise the quality of health care provided for citizens and residents in the Kingdom”.

The ministry was also responsible for a large number of other medical closures across the kingdom. This includes: 30 medical practices, 15 clinics, 29 pharmacies and 27 opticians. A number of large fines were issued to every medical centre closed, with the highest fines being placed on the pharmacists’.
