Denplan, the UK’s biggest dental insurance firm, has been put up for sale by AXA, with reports suggesting a fee of £100 million.

Denplan covers more than 1.8 dental patients and 6,500 dentists in the UK and is the biggest dental insurance provider in the country. It has been placed on the market by French firm, AXA, according to reports in The Telegraph.

The proposed sale comes shortly after the sale of AXA’s life business department to Resolution last year, with a fee of 2.75 billion pounds agreed upon. Last week it was also confirmed that AXA’s advice firm, Bluefin, was also put up for sale.

Representatives from AXA confirmed that the company is not planning to exit the UK market completely but the firm plans to focus on general insurance, AXA Wealth and health care business in the future.

The decision to place arms of the company up for sale was taken after a strategic review across AXA’s UK businesses.
