Crabbs Cross Kids Brush Up On Oral Hygiene

Sample News Big

Children from the Bright Kids nursery in Crabbs Cross have been brushing up on oral hygiene and learning how to take care of their teeth and gums.

Children at the nursery took part in games and role play scenarios as part of the Health Matters Education Brush Your Teeth Programme. Children were also visited by the dental team at NHS Worcestershire.

Children were actively encouraged to take part in a role play run-through of a visit to the dental surgery and this exercise was really popular, as children enjoyed pretending to be dentists and sitting in the dental chair. Initiatives like this are really important as they help children to prepare for trips to the dentist and also to realise that going to the dentist is nothing to worry or be scared about.

Children were taught how to brush their teeth properly and the dental team also talked to them about healthy eating; they were also given pictures to colour in and a tooth brushing chart to encourage them to brush twice a day.
