Could Singing Be A New Cure For Snoring?

Sample News Big

A recent study has suggested that singing could hold the key to a good night’s sleep.

In a study of 127 people with a history of snoring, disturbed sleep and sleep apnoea, researchers compared the effects of daily vocal exercises. It found that those who took part in singing exercises on a daily basis enjoyed a better night’s sleep than those who did no singing at all.

The findings of the study showed that those who took part in the vocal exercises for a 3 month period were less likely to snore and less likely to experience tiredness during the day.

The findings of the study are interesting but the reliability of the findings is questioned by the high number of people who dropped out. Of the group that was assigned to the singing exercises, 40 per cent dropped out before the end of the study and 14 per cent of those in the control group failed to reach the finish line.

The preliminary findings are certainly very interesting and experts say that further research in this area, conducted on a larger group, would be beneficial.
