Controversy as Edgerton Dental Clinic Offers Free Parking for Private Clients Only

Dental patients are in uproar after a clinic in Edgerton banned NHS patients from parking in the car park adjacent to the practice.

Julie King was shocked and disappointed when she was told to move her car after arriving at the practice with her 79-year old mother, Gretchen, who struggles to walk and uses a zimmer frame. Julie was informed that she couldn’t use the car park at Edgerton Dental Clinic because the spaces were available for private patients only.

Julie said she was completely taken aback when she was asked to move her car because the spaces were reserved for private patients only. She had been to the practice before with her daughters, but this was the first time her mother had visited and she assumed that there wouldn’t be a problem, especially given her difficulties with mobility.

Julie reluctantly moved her car, but said she was very upset about the situation, which she labelled “ridiculous.” Gretchen is registered disabled and can only walk with the support of a frame.

Sajid Manzoor, practice manager, said that it was disappointing to hear that a patient is unhappy about the parking at the practice and pointed out that blue badge parking is available on the street.
