Connah’s Quay dental clinic plans divide local councillors

Sample News Big

Plans to build a new dental practice in disused council offices in Connah’s Quay have been met with mixed reactions.

Plans to convert the council offices into dental offices have been approved; however, a number of councillors are disgruntled and insist that the dental surgery will create problems with traffic, which could endanger pedestrians and motorists. Councillor Glenville James said that the new surgery would undoubtedly lead to numerous accidents because the area is already very congested. Buckley councillor, Richard Jones, also claimed that the surgery was unnecessary.

In contrast, fellow councillors are delighted with the news; Chris Jones, a colleague of Richard Jones, claimed that the new practice will make a huge difference to local people and would enable residents to see a dentist on their doorstep, instead of having to travel to Chester or Mold. The planning committee also suggested that traffic would not increase, as patients would be allocated appointments, rather than simply turning up at random times during the day.

Local residents are also happy with the announcement; for many people the new surgery will enable them to see a dentist without having to go out of their way to travel to other towns. The new surgery will be particularly beneficial for patients who have difficulty getting around and those who do not drive.
