Colgate is teaming up with the British Dental Association to launch a national campaign to encourage people to take good care of their teeth and gums. Oral Health Month will run throughout September, with practices all over the UK taking part and raising awareness of oral health issues.

Colgate will be also be building on the success of previous campaigns by re-launching its Bright Smiles Bright Futures campaign, which aims to promote good oral health for children and reduce rates of decay. Throughout the month of September, Colgate will be giving out packs containing toothbrushes and toothpaste to around 300,000 children. Practices that have signed up to celebrate the BDA’s Oral Health Month will receive packs to give out to patients, as well as promotional materials, including posters and leaflets and resources, which aim to help dentists engage with children and encourage them to adopt good oral health habits.

The Bright Smiles Bright Futures campaign was first launched in 1991 and has since helped to provide oral health education for millions of children in the UK and all over the world. The campaign has reached 80 different countries and Colgate is helping to teach children in every corner of the world to look after their teeth with basic oral health education. The programme has been particularly important in developing countries where access to oral healthcare is very poor and most children aren’t able to see a dentist.
