Colchester Dentist Embarks Upon Charity Moustache Growing Challenge

Sample News Big

A dentist from Colchester has bid farewell to his clean-shaven face after embarking on a moustache growing challenge for six months.

Country Park Dental Practice owner Dr Djalil Shabahang will refrain from shaving his moustache until January, in a bid to raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK. Dr Shabahang is rarely seen sporting facial hair, so this will be a major change.

The sixty-one-year-old started growing his moustache at the beginning of the month, and he will continue until the beginning of next year. Having never had facial hair before, Dr Shabahang decided that this would be a challenge for him, and he wanted to do something a little different to raise money.

Patients have already donated at the practice, and Dr Shabahang plans to set up a Just Giving page in the next few days for online contributions.

Dr Shabahang decided to donate to Cancer Research UK because many of his patients are affected either directly or indirectly by cancer. Some are battling the disease, while others have lost relatives or close friends. The team is aware of the prevalence of cancer, and the effect it has on people on a daily basis.

The determined dentist is hoping to raise £3,000 in total. He has already paid tribute to his colleagues for their support and thanked everyone who has already donated for their generosity.
