Scotland’s largest dental chain has added a new practice as part of an ongoing expansion plan.

Clyde Munro has added a long-established Ayr clinic to its ever-growing portfolio. Alloway Place Dental Practice is the latest acquisition for the group.

Founded in the 1950s, the practice was most recently taken over by husband and wife team, Jennifer and James McCall, in 2013. The clinic provides dental services for around 10,000 local patients and treats many third and fourth generation residents.

Jennifer and James spent a lot of time thinking about the acquisition and they wanted to make sure that they found a company that was a perfect fit for Alloway Place. They received recommendations from colleagues and fellow dental professionals and practice owners and approached Clyde Munro to discuss the possibility of joining the chain.

The McCalls were impressed by the company values and the autonomy practices enjoy once the acquisition is complete.
Jennifer started working at the practice in 2012, two years after James joined the clinic as an associate.

Both dentists will continue to work at the practice and are looking forward to devoting more time to patient care now that management tasks will be taken over by Clyde Munro.

The duo has found it difficult to cope with the ongoing challenges of running a practice and joining the fast-growing chain will free up time to focus on providing dental care, which has always been their passion. Jennifer confirmed that patients won’t really notice any differences in terms of the care they receive or the faces they see.

Clyde Munro became the first chain in Scotland to pass the 50 practice milestone in 2021.
