Scotland’s biggest dental group has added a new practice to its ever-growing portfolio.

Clyde Munro has acquired family-run Artis Dental Services in Balerno. The business was established over 15 years ago by husband-and-wife team Brian and Edel Clough. The practice team comprises two dentists and ten support staff and treats patients from Edinburgh, St Andrews and beyond.

Brian, 57, is currently studying for a master’s degree in Restorative Dentistry at Edinburgh University and said that joining Clyde Munro would enable him to focus on patient care and implement the skills and techniques he has learned on the course.

Clyde Munro will handle the business side, freeing up time for the dental team to concentrate on providing treatment for patients and maintaining high standards of care.

Brian said that the move made sense given the additional challenges small, independent practices face after the pandemic. Having Clyde Munro on board provides stability, investment and support for the practice, enabling the dentists to continue providing patients in Balerno with the best possible care on their doorstep. The acquisition will allow for expansion and growth at a time when the demand for dental services is increasing.

The Cloughs stressed that nothing will change for patients following the acquisition. All the existing staff members will remain at the practice.

Clyde Munro operates more than 50 dental practices across Scotland, providing treatment for over 460,000 patients.
