Clyde Munro acquires Ayrshire dental practice

Scotland’s largest dental group, Clyde Munro, has acquired a practice in Ayrshire.

The ever-growing chain now owns more than 50 dental practices across Scotland. The latest addition is Maybole Dental Practice, a four-surgery practice with over 10,000 patients.

David Logan, the previous owner, joined the practice in 1993 after graduating from Glasgow University. His father owned the business at the time. In 2003, David’s wife Gillian joined the team. She worked as an associate dentist for many years and has been helping to manage the business side of the practice recently.

Mr Logan said that patients won’t notice any difference at the practice under the Clyde Munro banner. All of the staff will remain at the clinic. Dental nurse, Sharon Robb, who started at the practice on a youth training scheme after leaving school, will assume the role of practice manager. All of the team members have been at Maybole for at least ten years, and some, including Sharon, have been there longer than Mr Logan.

The acquisition will enable Mr Logan and the team to focus on patient care and delivering treatment and ease pressures associated with managing the business. Clyde Munro was established to provide patients in Scotland with high-quality dental care.

The chain now runs more than 50 practices across the country and is expanding all the time. The business provides treatment for more than 460,000 patients and employs more than 200 dentists.

Patients at Maybole Dental Practice have been informed about the acquisition and the team is looking forward to seeing familiar faces in the days and weeks ahead.
