Chester dental practice set to expand

A dental practice in Chester is set to expand after securing planning permission to relocate to larger premises.

Chester Cosmetic Dental Care, which is based in Upton, will move to bigger premises in the same row of units at Long Lane precinct. The owners of the popular clinic submitted an application to change the use of the premises, which are currently occupied by Upton Home & Garden hardware store.

The development project will involve knocking down the existing extension at the rear of the building and creating new extensions at the front, back and side of the unit. The new surgery will boast state-of-the-art facilities, including modern treatment rooms, a waiting area and a meeting space.

The plans outlined proposals to refurbish and modernise the property and create six treatment rooms, an imaging suite, a recovery room, a reception and waiting area, accessible toilets and a conference room. One objection was put forward during the consultation period, which related to a lack of parking and increased footfall.

Planning officers approved the plans, modifying the existing proposal slightly to adjust the windows to prevent other premises from being overlooked.

The relocation will enable the business to expand and treat more people while providing superior facilities for existing patients. Upton is easily accessible from the city centre and surrounding towns and villages, including Ellesmere Port, Kelsall, Tarvin and Tarporley.
