Cheshire Surgeon Celebrates ‘Best Specialist Dentist in the Country’ Award
Cheshire surgeon, John Scholey, is celebrating yet another award after being named the best dental specialist in the UK for the third time.
Mr Scholey, who lives in Sandbach, has now won the best orthodontic specialist title three times since the award was introduced four years ago. The father of two, who works for the NHS, beat off competition from hundreds of private dentists to claim the accolade.
Mr Scholey works at University Hospital of North Staffordshire and was nominated for the award by 20-year-old patient, Matt Holmes, who had severe orthodontic problems and was worried about having treatment. Matt, who is a sports coach, praised Mr Scholey for his understanding nature, as well as his clinical expertise and thanked him for giving him an incredible new smile. In gratitude for Mr Scholey’s work, Matt nominated him for a Sentinel Our Heroes Award.
Scholey, who was born in Coventry and has been working at the hospital for eight years, described Matt as a “model patient” and paid tribute to his cooperation and patience.
Mr Scholey has visited Las Vegas and several countries in Europe to lecture on Orthodontics and his next trip will involve an adventure down under.
