Carlisle Dental Laboratory Gains National Recognition
A dental laboratory located in Carlisle has gained recognition nationwide due to a new scheme to promote oral health.
S + J, which are based in Rosehill, have registered with the British Bite Mark campaign, which is the only oral health campaign to work with dental laboratories, as well as dental practices so far. The laboratory supplies custom-made restorations and dental devices and appliances to practices across the UK. The campaign has been launched by the Dental Laboratories Association.
Steven Doran, owner of the laboratory, said that the British Bite Mark campaign enables patients to ensure that the appliances and devices they use are made in Britain and comply with guidelines set out by the General Dental Council and the Medicines Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency.
Dental laboratories in the UK are legally obliged to employ trained dental technicians and use high grade materials and the new scheme allows patients to check the standard and origins of their custom-made dental appliances.
