CarieScan, 3D Diagnostic Imaging’s innovative early cavity detection device, has successfully expanded into the Canadian and European markets.

Yesterday the company revealed that the product had been shipped to Canada for the first time and plans for a distribution contract have also been finalised to take the product to Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The Dundee-based company has already signed a lucrative deal with distributors Patterson Dental and Dentaire Canada and now 3D Diagnostic Imaging has appointed Orange Dental GmbH & Co to distribute the product in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

Graham Lay, the company’s chief executive, said that the deal was an important stage of the wider business plan because it marked the entry into the European market. Once the product has been distributed in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the company hopes to reach other European markets and will also be focusing on North America in the coming months.

3D will announce its interim results for the six month period leading up to December in March.
