Two dentists from Cardiff embarked on a gruelling physical challenge to raise money for charity.

Husband and wife team, Victoria and Dai Woodsford, have signed up to RelayGB, a world-record attempt, which involves a non-stop series of marathons. RelayGB is one of the most intensive physical challenges, involving 119 back-to-back marathons, covering more than 3,000 miles, which takes place throughout the month of May. Hundreds of runners will be competing in the relay event to raise money for Brain Tumour UK.

Victoria and Dai ran 52 miles between them on the weekend of the 5th May. Victoria ran the 26-mile leg that crossed the English-Welsh border before handing the baton to her husband, who braved torrential rain to reach the finish line.

This latest challenge is part of an adventure-packed year for the dental duo. Victoria is now preparing to fly out to Nepal to take part in the world’s highest marathon, which begins at the base camp for Mount Everest.

The pair, from Greenfield Dental Care, said that the challenge was tough but hugely rewarding and a brilliant way to support such a worthy case. Brain Tumour UK is the UK’s leading brain tumour charity and supporters are eager to raise more money for the charity as currently brain tumours receive only a very small proportion of cancer funding in the UK.
