Burnham-on-Sea dental team donates new clothes to keep RNLI volunteers warm

A dental team from Burnham-on-Sea has donated new clothing to keep RNLI volunteers warm during rescue operations at sea.

Staff from College Street Dental, which is part of the Portman Group, wanted to make a donation to the RNLI. When they contacted the Burnham-on-Sea branch, representatives said that they had been thinking about buying new hoodies, sweaters and jumpers to provide more warm layers for the team.

The practice staff decided to buy the branded clothing as their local service contribution in recognition of the amazing work volunteers do to rescue those in danger and save lives. Karen Wheeler, from the practice, said that living and working in a seaside town makes you realise just how important the RNLI is, with every rescue telling a story. Every volunteer is a hero and for the College Street Dental team, supporting the RNLI was an obvious choice.
Karen went on to pay tribute to the charity, which has been saving lives at sea for more than 200 years. The RNLI relies on donations and is always ready to respond no matter the time of day or the weather conditions.

Boathouse manager, Dave Parsons, thanked the team at College Street Dental for their generous donation and their support for the local volunteers. Without donations, the charity wouldn’t be able to undertake the work it does. The jumpers and hoodies will provide volunteers with extra layers to keep warm on shore and on the water.

College Street Dental is an active supporter of local charities and initiatives, donating to a wide range of projects and schemes throughout the year.
