Bupa has sealed a deal worth £835 million for Oasis Dental Care, one of the country’s major dental chains.

Reports have confirmed the acquisition from Bridgepoint. The move will increase Bupa’s presence in the dental market significantly. Oasis Dental Care boasts 380 surgeries across the country and provides care for 2 million dental patients. More than 1,800 dentists in the UK are currently employed by Oasis.

Justin Ash, chief executive of Oasis Dental Care, said that the acquisition will enable Oasis to continue to grow and exert influence on the ever-changing UK dental market. Mr Ash also confirmed that the takeover will not affect the quality of care in any way and reassured patients that the firm will continue to prioritise providing first class standards of dental care.

Bupa’s managing director in the UK, David Hyman, explained that the deal works because both companies have a vested interest in customer care and a desire to provide excellent standards of care at an affordable price. He added that everyone at Bupa is looking forward to working with Oasis Dental Care staff to build a successful dental business in the coming years.

Oasis Dental Care was previously owned by Bridgepoint.
