Bupa practices encourage Prestatyn dental patients to get in touch following news of mydentist closure

Bupa Dental Care is encouraging dental patients registered with mydentist in Prestatyn to get in touch, after it was confirmed that the clinic will close at the end of October.

Recently, the local newspaper revealed that the mydentist surgery in Fern Avenue would close, leaving 1,150 patients without a dentist. However, help is at hand, as Bupa practices in Rhyl, Flint, Denbigh and Ewloe are currently accepting new patients. Bupa Dental Care’s area manager, Mia Djuheric, said that many patients based in Prestatyn may be anxious after spotting headlines related to a lack of NHS places in the town, but Bupa has a number of places available at nearby clinics. Ms Djuheric suggested that anyone who is looking for a new dental practice should call to find out more about services on offer and register with Bupa.

Mayor of Prestatyn and a patient of the mydentist clinic in Fern Avenue, Cllr Anton Sampson, said that it was “disconcerting” that patients feel anxious about finding a local dentist, but welcomed other local practices spreading the word that places are available. While it’s best for patients at the Fern Avenue practice to remain in Prestatyn, some people may be prepared to travel, and Bupa’s clinics may therefore be an appealing option. All four surgeries all located within 25 miles of the Fern Avenue clinic.

Mydentist patients currently registered at the Fern Avenue branch have also been advised that spaces are available at the firm’s sister practice on the High Street.
