A highly-respected dentist has retired after treating patients in Bude for thirty years.

Kathy Lawrence qualified over 40 years ago, and has spent three decades working in the town, most recently at Morwenna Dental Care in Bude. Before relocating to Cornwall, Kathy worked in Essex. She was initially based in Basildon, but fell in love with a small surgery in Burnham on Crouch, which was previously a fisherman’s cottage, and decided to move. After a decade, she headed south to Cornwall, taking a job in Holsworthy before settling in Bude.

Kathy joined the team at Morwenna Dental Care and brought two dental nurses from Holsworthy with her. Kathy has spent the last five years of her career at the surgery, but she did make the decision to go it alone, taking up posts at Lloyds Chambers and Hillhead between spells at the practice. Many of the original team members from Morwenna Dental are still at the clinic, and Kathy felt it right to finish her career there.

Kathy described the Morwenna Dental team as “unique” and said that she would miss her colleagues greatly, as many have become close friends. She also expressed her gratitude to patients, many of whom have been at the practice for years, and said that they can rest assured that they will continue to be treated by the best in the business at Morwenna Dental Care.
