We all know the importance of a baby’s oral health, especially when their teeth start to come through. One mother has taken her child’s oral health into her own hands and started her own company to focus on the oral health of babies.

Dominique Tillen founded Brush Baby in 2008 after being inspired to improve the oral health of babies beside her own daughter Lulu and despite the company being only 3 years old, it has just been awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2011.

Brush Baby market a range of products for a range of ages, from just a few months, up to 5 years old.

This range of products are separated into three steps, step one is from the ages of 0 to 16 months and urges the use of Dental Wipes to keep the mouth free of bacteria and plaque even before teeth being to erupt at around 6 months.

The second step is from the ages of 10 months to 3 years and is the time to use one of Brush Babies most innovative inventions, the chewable toothbrush. Between these ages, babies have a natural urge to chew things, giving them this chewable toothbrush allows them to clean their teeth, and helps with the teething process.

The final step is between the ages of 3 and 6 and the final years before the company estimates adult teeth will begin to appear and children can take full care of their own teeth. It is also a time when it is suggest that you introduce flossing to your child, although the coordination of the child will mean a parent would have to do the flossing for the child initially.

Brush Baby is the first company to focus heavily on the development of oral health of children and the company’s presence is growing the world over and has had particular success in Europe, the Middle East and Australia.
