Brooklands Dental Practice Helps Local Children to Battle Decay

Sample News Big

The dental team from a practice in Brooklands is helping local children and their parents to battle tooth decay.

Maple Road Dental Practice established a preventative dentistry unit to educate children and parents about effective ways to keep decay at bay after a House of Commons report, which was released in 2012, showed significant levels of decay among the nation’s 5 year olds. Since then, the team has been working to promote the notion that prevention is better than cure and inviting children to make use of the facilities at the practice.

In the run-up to World Oral Health Day, which will take place on March 20th, the team from Maple Road is encouraging children to visit and take part in fun and educational sessions, which use a range of techniques and equipment including games and giant teeth and toothbrushes. The aim is to teach children about oral health and show them how to take good care of their teeth and gums.

Ian Hunt, clinical director of the practice, which has long-established links with nurseries and schools in the area, said that the preventative dentistry unit was created with the aim of encouraging good habits and promoting good oral health from a very young age. Children can learn all about their teeth and gums and have loads of fun at the clinic, while also gaining valuable life lessons that will hopefully lead to healthy teeth and gums for many years to come.

Anyone who is interested in visiting the clinic is advised to contact reception on 0161 9730565.
