Bracknell Dental Nurse Celebrates National Award

A dental nurse from Bracknell is celebrating after winning a national award; Joan Hatchard was presented with the Outstanding Contribution to Dental Nursing Award at a prestigious awards ceremony in October.

Joan has worked as a dental nurse for more than three decades and now trains dental nurses, as well as enjoying her position as practice manager at Glenmore Dental Practice in Bracknell. Joan uses her thirty years of experience to teach dental nurses and she is the director of Dental Nurse Training? Solutions!

She was presented with the Outstanding Contribution to Dental Nursing Award at the National Dental Nursing Conference, which was held at Birmingham’s NEC. The award was given out by the current president of the British Association of Dental Nurses, Nichola Docherty.

Joan said that she was “thrilled” with the award and could not believe it when she was told the news that she had been selected for the honour; she added that the conference is always an exciting event and this year, it was extra special.

Chief executive of the British Association of Dental Nurses, Pam Swain, said that Joan is a worthy winner of the award and is very highly respected by fellow nurses; she has dedicated the last thirty years to caring for patients and helping dental nurses to acquire the skills to enjoy a successful career in the industry.
