Bluestone National Park Resort has joined forces with Brushbox to promote dental hygiene for children across Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire.

As part of a new partnership, guests staying at the resort will receive free bamboo toothbrushes. Local children will also be provided with dental hygiene supplies. Between August 20th and 30th, around 1,500 Brushbox bamboo toothbrushes will be handed out to Bluestone guests and oral hygiene leaflets will also be available in lodges and rooms.

For every toothbrush purchased by Bluestone, Brushbox is donating a free toothbrush to children in the local community. A further 1,500 brushes will be distributed to families in the two counties. Brushbox has also pledged to plant 1,500 trees in the Bluestone name as part of a rainforest reinstatement programme.

Health and wellbeing adviser at Bluestone National Park Resort, Amanda Griffiths, said that everyone at the resort is “delighted” to team up with Brushbox to raise awareness of the importance of good dental hygiene and encourage children to look after their teeth and gums. Dental health is “such an important issue, which has a life-long impact,” she added.

Marten Lewis, head of corporate responsibility at Bluestone said that it was brilliant to be able to work with Brushbox to benefit thousands of children in the local area.

The move has been welcomed by service improvement lead for oral health promotion and dental services at Hywel Dda University Health Board, Tara Gover, who thanked everyone involved for their generosity. The initiative will impact local people positively, including vulnerable families who may not be able to afford to replace brushes regularly.
