Bexhill dental practice owner submits expansion plans

The owner of a dental practice in Bexhill has submitted plans to expand.

The application put forward by the owner of Albany Dental Practice outlines plans to create a larger practice by using the first and second floors of the building in Parkhurst Road. The surgery currently occupies the ground floor.

If the application to change the use of the first and second floors of the premises gets the green light, new consulting rooms will be created to increase capacity and provide more services for more local patients.

The statement accompanying the application suggests that there are already medical and commercial businesses operating in the same area and states that the work will not impact the surrounding properties.

There is no plan to offer off-street parking in line with other premises within the town’s conservation area and patients will be encouraged to travel sustainably and make use of existing parking facilities. There will be a new bike rack at the practice for those who wish to cycle.

The owners of the practice indicated that the town needs more dental services and highlighted the benefits of using the first and second floors of the Parkhurst Road building to ensure the “continued economic use” of the premises.

The statement suggests that the practice has outgrown the ground floor and needs to expand to enable the team to keep up with the rising demand for dental treatment in the area.
