A newly qualified dental nurse from Barrow is celebrating after receiving a special achievement award for successfully completing her apprenticeship.

Kelsey Round was presented with the award, which recognises her dedication and commitment to the training programme, by Training 2000, the UK’s largest training organisation.

She was praised for her hard work, people skills and commitment to the apprenticeship programme and she is delighted to receive the award just 3 months after qualifying as a dental nurse.

Kelsey works at the Oxford Place Dental Practice in Barrow and her boss, clinical director, James Tomlinson, said that he has come across very few people like Kelsey in his 34 years in the industry; he described the 21 year old as “one of the most promising young people we have ever employed” and praised her technical ability, as well as her drive and her ability to get on with patients and colleagues.

Overall she said that the award was an incredible achievement, especially as she has always wanted to pursue a career in dental nursing. She also thanked all the staff at the practice for their support and guidance and said that she is enjoying life as a dental nurse.
