Bamford Dental Team Celebrates Success After Completing Charity Swim
A dental team from Bamford has plenty to smile about after completing The Great North Swim. The team from Bamford Dental Practice completed the 1 mile swim at Lake Windermere on Saturday 11th June to raise money for charity.
Almost 10,000 swimmers took part in the three day event in the Lake District. The team from Bamford Dental had never attempted an open water swim before, but they braved the cold water and unpredictable currents to reach the finish line. Over the past few weeks, dentists and nurses have been fundraising for Macmillan and they have raised more than £6,000 so far.
Generous donations from colleagues, patients and local residents spurred the team on and every member finished the course in a respectable time.
A spokesman for the practice said that everyone enjoyed a great day and those who participated were grateful for the kind donations that have been made so far.
