Aspen Dental joins forces with Oral Health America to boost dental health
One of America’s largest dental providers, Aspen Dental, has joined forces with Oral Health America to raise awareness of the importance of good oral health amongst adults.
Oral Health America will team up with Aspen Dental to celebrate the Fall for Smiles campaign from the 20th to 24th September. More than 250 dental offices in 20 different states will take part in the campaign, which is specifically targeted at adults and older people. There is a huge number of charity events run for children; however, those aimed at adults and older people are much less common. Oral Health America has recognised the lack of support for adults and is now working to promote good oral health amongst this demographic.
The campaign will focus on education about oral hygiene, healthy eating and general health and reduced rate treatment will be offered by Aspen Dental surgeries. Many people are not aware of the link between oral health and general health; numerous studies have now confirmed a link between poor oral health and an increased risk of serious medical issues, including diabetes, heart disease and strokes.
The Fall for Smiles campaign is designed to promote oral health and make it an integral part of people’s daily lives; simply spending a few minutes every day on the teeth and gums will make a huge difference to both oral and general health.
The campaign will provide information and educational resources for adults around the country and it is hoped that they will pass the information onto others close to them.
