Alnwick dentist preparing to take Great North run
A dentist from Alnwick is preparing to tackle the Great North Run to raise money for a local school.
Scott Williamson, from Market Street Dental Practice, will take on the gruelling half-marathon to raise money for his son’s school; the money he raises will go towards the Tweedmouth Grove Special School Holiday Fund, which provides money for trips for the children. Last year, Scott’s son Adam, went on a five-day trip to Center Parcs in Cumbria.
This will not be the first time Scott has participated in the run; however, it has been over a decade since he ran the race. This year’s event will take place on Sunday 18th September and thousands of people are expected to pound the streets of Newcastle to raise money for a huge range of charities and good causes.
