Align Technology Inc. have announced that Invisalign G3 is set to be launched, making it one of the most significant steps forward in the company’s history. Invisalign G3, set to be launched internationally in 2011, will introduce a number of key changes and features to the company’s aligner equipment and software, allowing for advanced treatment and results to be achieved via new software and aligners. The new collection of features offered by the launch of Invisalign G3 will make treatment easier for Class II and Class III patients, as well as increasing the predictability of tooth movement and easier treatment reviews.

One of the new key features offered by Invisalign G3 is the Precision Cuts option, which allows for doctors to easily use the software interface to specify the placement of pre-cuts into the aligners. This means that doctors no longer have to manually cut the aligners in order to make space for interarch elastics; as Precision Cuts allows for the aligners to be pre-cut for each individual case. ‘I’m very excited about the new features…particularly Precision Cuts,’ said one orthodontist, ‘it’s a significant enhancement to what I do in the office every day and will make it even easier to use Invisalign on complex cases.’

The software improvements, including the new ClinCheck 3.0, will allow for doctors to modify and adapt a patient’s treatment plan a lot easier than before. Other features in Invisalign G3 include equipment to treat bicuspids, lower anteriors and upper anteriors. Align vice president Sheila Tan said boasted the range of new features; ‘Invisalign G3 really gets at the heart of what doctors have been asking for from Invisalign treatment, with technology and tools that are designed to expand the clinical scope of Invisalign.’

Tan then continued, ‘Invisalign G3 represents a tremendous leap forward in Invisalign innovation and demonstrates how we leverage our technology to deliver the clinical outcomes doctors expect.’
